Capstone Projects

The IT capstone module offers students the opportunity to develop their analytical and critical skills in an IT project based on a topic, selected by the student, which will be approved and supervised by a member of the teaching team.

Experimental Lab

The Experimental IT lab is equipped with computers that have no restrictions, resources such as the help of a research lab assistant, and equipment such as robotic platforms, automation kits, and different mobile devices. The availability of the lab and its contents has proven to be helpful in supporting the students' works and inspiring new ideas.

Imagine Cup

AUIS students took first, second and third place at the 2012 Microsoft Imagine Cup Competition, the world's premier student technology competition. The winning team went to Sydney, Australia to compete at the Imagine Cup 2012 Worldwide Finals.

AUIS' IT students are becoming leaders in one of Iraq's most important industries.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) major in Information Technology (IT) is a technical degree program that prepares students in the core competencies of the IT discipline, including problem-solving and programming, networking and communications, database systems, Internet and Web technologies, and information security. The IT major is a suitable choice for students interested in future employment in the areas such as software development and application support, network operations, database management, technical liaison and sales, and IT services. Students majoring in IT have the flexibility to add a minor in another degree program, such as Business Administration or International Studies. Or they may take additional courses in the discipline beyond those required for the major, in pursuit of a particular concentration program in IT.
